Our Story

About Orange County Animal Clinic

Orange County Animal Clinic was established in
1975 by Dr. Larry Gaudreau. The original home of
the practice was in the basement of Dr. Gaudreau’s
home. He practiced there for five years before
moving “to town” in 1980.

About Us

As Dr. Gaudreau continued to build the practice, Orleans native Bradley K. Cooper was already showing interest in veterinary medicine as he job shadowed and volunteered at the Animal Care Clinic in Salem, Indiana, while still in high school. He graduated from Orleans High School in 1990.

Bradley then moved to West Lafayette and attended Purdue University, majoring in Animal Science. After receiving his undergraduate degree, he began his pursuit of a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree. In May of 1997, Dr. Cooper graduated from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. After graduation, Dr. Cooper went to work at Odon Veterinary Clinic, where he practiced for three years. In July 2000, Dr. Cooper returned to Salem and worked alongside Dr. Leonard Chastain until January 2001. Following his time with Dr. Chastain, he practiced with a veterinary school classmate, Dr. Fred Froderman, at Clear Lake Veterinary Hospital in Brazil, Indiana.

In September 2001, Dr. Cooper returned to his Orange County home and joined Orange County Animal Clinic. In January 2002, Dr. Cooper became the owner of Orange County Animal Clinic.

In 2009, the clinic moved from its longtime home to a new facility between Orleans and Paoli on Highway 37 South. The new location provides exam rooms, surgery facilities, treatment rooms, digital X-ray capabilities, in-house lab capabilities, spacious cage rooms, large animal treatment areas, and a stall for large animal hospitalization, all in a comfortable, warm environment.
